Repsol Licenses Technologies to China
Under the terms of the license, Repsol will supply processes for plants producing 200,000 t/y PO and 450,000 t/y SM, as well as two plants with an aggregated capacity of 125,000 t/y of both flexible and polymer polyether polyols. The plants are being built in Jiangsu province but the identity of the Chinese producer was not disclosed.
Repsol added that it plans to continue collaborating with the licensee on further initiatives to strengthen its position in the Chinese market.
This latest agreement is the third in China that Repsol has entered into since 2013. In January 2017, the Spanish company signed a licensing deal with Tianjin Bohua Chemical Development for plants producing 200,000 t/y of PO and 450,000 t/y of SM.
An agreement in 2013 was for a 400,000 t/y flexible and polymer polyols facility in Jilin province.
