Bronson and Jacobs China specializes in distributing personal care ingredients, primarily for skincare, and has offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou, the latter location also housing a personal care laboratory.

The deal, said Azelis, strengthens its footprint in the China personal care market, allowing it to better serve several key multinational customers in the country. Growth in China is a prime strategic objective for the specialty chemicals distributor.

 It also follows the purchase in April of CosBond, a Chinese specialty chemicals and food ingredients distributor that is headquartered in Hong Kong with offices and warehouses in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Beijing.

“The portfolio of Bronson and Jacobs China is highly complementary to CosBond’s and Azelis’ and will enhance our lateral value chain in this segment,” said Laurent Nataf, CEO & president of Azelis Asia Pacific. “Customers of both organizations will benefit from improved product range and access to additional principals.”

The transaction is expected to close within two months.
