Nexam Expands Scottish Plant
12.11.2019 -
Swedish chemicals company Nexam Chemical has announced it is “significantly” expanding capacity of active ingredients at its plant in St Andrews, Scotland, to meet increasing demand.
The ingredients are used in a variety of the company’s polymer additives, which include crosslinkers, chain extenders, branching agents and masterbatches.
The project has partially started and will double output with the possibility of further improvements to capacity at a later stage, Nexam said.
In addition, the company is also investing in some improvements to its production plant in Lomma, Sweden.
In total, Nexam is spending around 10 million Swedish kroner on the projects, which are scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2020. The company did not disclose actual capacity figures.
As well as Scotland and Sweden, Nexam also operates plants in Hungary and Poland.
