Only a month into his role, Terence Hahn, the newly appointed CEO of US coatings company Axalta has resigned “by mutual agreement” after an external investigation into his conduct. Hahn took up his position on Sept. 4. He has also stepped down from Axalta’s board.

Without giving details, Axalta said it believes Hahn’s behavior “was inconsistent with company policies”. The company added that the inconsistencies were not related to financial matters.

Before Hahn joined Axalta, he was CEO of Honeywell’s Home and Building Technologies business group for four years and prior to that served nearly 20 years at Air Products & Chemicals.

Robert Bryant, chief financial officer at Axalta since 2013, has been named as interim CEO.
