27.01.2015 -
To meet rising demand for high-quality vitamin A products and global market growth, BASF has widened production capacity for vitamin A at its Ludwigshafen, Germany headquarters by 25%.
The capacity upgrade was achieved through expansion of an existing plant.
Vitamin A, an essential and fat-soluble micronutrient, is used by the human and animal nutrition industries in feed and food products, as well as by the personal care sector. In animal nutrition, it is used as a feed additive in all types of feed for both livestock and companion animals, in human nutrition for food and beverage supplements.
BASF's vitamin A portfolio includes a broad range of fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins. The German chemical giant also supplies vitamins A/D3, D3, K1, B2, B5, E and choline chloride.
