Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical Performance Polymers (MCPP) has added Grässlin Kunststoffe to its list of distribution partners for Germany.

The subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical said the agreement with Grässlin is designed to strengthen the distribution network for its Tefabloc thermoplastic elastomers used in injection and extrusion molding applications.

Tefabloc is claimed to offer a wide set of functionalities such as dry touch with ultra-low hardness, elastic memory at elevated temperature and flexibility at very low temperature. Other advantages are said to include chemical compatibility for the over-molding of soft grades on engineering polymers.

Applications include solutions with high transparency and formulations designed for the manufacturing of soft grips on PA 6, and PA 6.6.

Benoit Deriano, responsible for MCPP Europe’s distribution and markets outside of automotive and building and construction, said the combination of MCPP’s know-how in compounding and the Grässlin’s specialty plastics distribution capabilities provides confidence of succeeding in the German market.
