Marc Fermont Wins Fecc Award 2013

Marc Henri Fermont was recently awarded the European Association of Chemical Distributors (Fecc) Award 2013 for "outstanding contribution to the success of the chemical distribution industry. The Fecc Award symbolizes the recognition to those who have distinguished themselves for outstanding performance in the European chemical distribution industry, the group said in a press release.
"The leaders of the chemical distribution industry are an example of positive adaptation and dedication," said Fecc President Edgar E. Nordmann. "... a leader needs to have not only ample knowledge but must also be courageous, enthusiastic, creative and a tireless worker. We are extremely lucky to count with Mr. Fermont who has demonstrated he possesses all these qualities and more. Never afraid of stirring controversy and with a great eye to spot talent, he has played a key role in the in the history of our industry."
Born in 1945 in Lyon, Fermont has a bachelor degree from the École Superieure de Commerce of Reims, and a bachelor of science degree in economics from the Université de Paris. He also holds an MBA from the University of Oregon. During his tenure at Dow Chemical he worked in France, Switzerland, Germany, UK and Italy. He was appointed director of distribution affairs in Europe in 1991 and held the European Vice-Presidency of Dow Chemical Europe from 1994 to 1998. Specialized in distributor strategies, Fermont founded his consultancy Districonsult in 1999.
