InformexUSA Addresses Key Areas Affecting the Chemical Marketplace
Top Insight on Green Chemistry, API Manufacturing, Specialty Chemicals and Supply Chain Management at Industry Event
The newly expanded Conference Program at InformEx USA will cover key areas in the chemical market and provide keen insight on several dynamic sectors that are impacting the fine, custom and specialty chemicals industry. Taking place February 19-22, 2013, at the Anaheim Convention Center, InformEx USA will bring together buyers and sellers in the global chemical marketplace for four days of sourcing, education and networking.
Leading off the educational programming are two powerful sessions starting with "Differentiating Yourself From the Competition in the Green Supply Chain," on Wednesday, February 20th. David J.C. Constable, PhD, Director of the ACS Green Chemistry Institute, will discuss how demand by consumers for greener products is filtering down the supply chain. As the global chemical industry focuses more on sustainability, he will present metrics, best practices and opportunities that companies can leverage for greener chemistry and engineering principles when designing new products.
"Perspectives on the Specialty Chemical Industry," will also take place on Wednesday, February 20TH. Larry Sloan, President, Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) will speak on the state of the U.S. manufacturing sector and implications for the specialty chemical industry. He will also share the drivers for future growth for specialty chemical manufacturers.
RX-360, an international pharmaceutical supply chain consortium, will lead a high level panel discussion on "Attn. Suppliers: This is what Keeps Me up at Night - How Rx360 Helps Me Sleep Better." The session, taking place on Thursday, Feb. 21, will focus on the issues of most concern to senior procurement professionals, specifically as it relates to their vendors and the pharmaceutical supply chain. Attendees will learn how the activities of Rx-360 and active involvement in the organization by both Pharmaceutical companies and their suppliers can mitigate these risks. Scott Watson, Executive Director, RX-360 will moderate this panel that includes sourcing and procurement executives from Amgen, Eli Lilly and Company, Mylan and Pfizer.
Leaders of US-based API Manufacturers will provide their perspectives on the present and future of API Manufacturing in the US in a powerful session titled: "API Manufacturing in the US is Dead. Or is it?" also taking place on Thursday, Feb. 21st. Dr. Aslam Malik, AMPAC Fine Chemicals; Dr. Stephen A. Munk, Ash Stevens, Inc.; Walt Shaw, Avanti Polar Lipids, Inc; Brian Scanlan, Cambridge Major Laboratories; and Guy Steenrod, Irix Pharmaceuticals, Inc.will share the secrets behind their success and what is driving their continued confidence in the future of active ingredient manufacturing in the US.
