Dow Chemical Plans Halt Of Dutch Naphtha Cracker

07.03.2011 -

Dow Chemical plans to halt operation of a LHC-1 naphtha cracker at its Terneuzen plant in the Netherlands for maintenance between March 11 and April 25, a company spokeswoman told Reuters on Friday.

Three naphtha crackers operate at the Dutch plant, and the ethylene-producing LHC-1 unit has the capacity to process 215 tons of naphtha per hour, a person who works at the Dow Chemical cracker said.

The Terneuzen plant has the capacity to produce around 1.8 million tons of ethylene per year, according to 2009 figures published by the Association of Petrochemicals Producers in Europe.
